Whilst majority of business leaders agree that artificial intelligence (AI) is an opportunity at 81.6%, there is still ambivalence about its effects, ICT firm Fujitsu Asia revealed.

According to its Global Digital Transformation Survey, 70.9% either strongly agree or agree that AI will substitute for people's work in the future.

However, 83.5% also believe AI will enhance people's future capabilities.

Meanwhile, business leaders believe that professional knowledge of digital technologies is the most important capability needed in the digital era at 19.4%. This is slightly more valued compared to the global average of 18.3%.

Other important capabilities are creativity and imagination at 15.5%, professional knowledge of specific business functions at 14.6%, and logical and analytical capability at 14.6%.

The other capabilities mentioned included liberal arts at 11.7% and professional knowledge of a specific industry at 9.7%.

"The range of capabilities mentioned indicates that there is a strong perception that a balance of skills is required to drive digital transformation - it is not just about technical capabilities," Fujitsu Asia said.
