As a proud supporter and member of the Emily Whitehead Foundation and one of the first adults to receive CAR T, we hope to raise awareness and help future patients and companies get involved with CAR T. I was diagnosed October 2010 with pre B ALL and relapsed 7 times. I flew out to U Penn when I first heard about CART (in 2014, before there were adult clinical trials) and had my cells collected. Because my leukemia spread to the CNS and eyes, I could not qualify for the CART trial and I was on hospice a year ago with three weeks left to live. I jumped through hoops and fought to get CART in September 2016 and was in remission after 28 days.
