Overview

We’re in the search for an experienced Full Stack Engineer with experience building reliable full stack applications used and loved by thousands of users. We are looking for someone who has owned critical product features and has the ability to execute and deliver at scale.

Our team is built on trust, so we are looking for someone who can comfortably own features end-to-end from development to deployment. Your main role will be to create APIs and tooling to support our core systems, and develop rich user interfaces to help our partners manage their Fintech program.

Your contributions will sit at the core of our Onboarding, Accounting, and Payments products.

There are many technical challenges building a fully compliant, integrated money movement platform at scale, and we hope this challenge is exciting for you. Also, as an early member of the engineering team, you will help shape the engineering culture of a fast-growing startup.

About Us

Valari is building a unified platform to enable any person or business in LATAM to receive, store and spend money faster. We have a partnership with a local bank, which allows us to issue debit, credit, investment, and insurance products through our platform.

Our customers include B2B software companies, marketplaces, neobanks and digital wallets. By partnering with Valari they can quickly launch embedded financial products such as bank accounts, cards, payments and lending to their users.

Our customers own the user experience and have little regulatory overhead, while generating revenue for the transactions they initiate in our platform.

What you’ll work on

• Develop robust back-end micro-services in Node.js or Python with an event-driven architecture.
• Implementing end-to-end features in our customer facing applications.
• Develop web applications using the latest React technologies such as Redux, Redux Saga, Context, Next.js and Typescript.
• Design a scalable architecture that is fault-tolerant and resilient, ensuring low latency and high availability for our customers.
• Translate product specifications and strategy into detailed requirements, milestones and development cycles.
• Contribute and maintain documentation for our internal teams and customers.
• Support our customers with triaging, investigating and pushing solutions to incidents happening in the platform with maximum urgency.

• React, Next.js and Typescript for our frontend applications
• PostgreSQL for our database
• Redis for Caching
• Docker for containerization
• Terraform as our infrastructure as code tool.
• Gitlab for source code management
• Gitlab CI for continuous integration and deployment

What do you need to excel in this role

• Demonstrated technical ability building full-stack applications with Javascript, preferable with React, Typescript and Next.js
• Proven record of developing and deploying cloud native applications, bonus points for having experience with AWS and its services.
• Relevant work experience in high growth software companies or a graduate degree from a related educational program.
• Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment, with team members distributed across the world.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate product requirements into detailed milestones and sprints to deliver projects on time.

You’re a great fit if you have

• Experience working at the intersection of Product and Engineering, where you have demonstrated ability to plan, execute and deliver cross-functional products.
• Experience with developing event-driven applications with technologies like Kafka.
• Previous experience from a start-up or fintech environment.
• Passionate about the market opportunity to provide better financial services to the 600M people living in LATAM.
• Understanding of financial services infrastructure, payment networks and the importance of compliance and fraud monitoring.
