Zeti hopes retailers pass on benefits from zero GST to consumers
KUALA LUMPUR: Council of Eminent Persons (CEP) member Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz hoped that consumers will continue to enjoy cheaper products following the move by the government to zero-rate the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
SINGAPORE (Dec 10): Malaysia's palm oil stockpiles at the end of November rose 10.5% from the previous month to 3.007 million tonnes, industry regulator the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) said on Monday.
Production in November slid 6.09% from the previous month to 1.85 million tonnes, while exports fell 12.9% to 1.375 million tonnes.
A Reuters survey earlier this month showed Malaysia's palm oil stocks at the end of November would touch the 3-million-tonne mark, their highest in recent years, as the drop in exports outweighed leaner production.
