Softbank, Google join US$1.9 billion investment in China truck-hailing firm
Japan's Softbank Group and Alphabet Inc's venture capital fund CapitalG are among investors pouring US$1.9 billion into a truck hailing service platform Manbang, the Chinese company said in a statement on Tuesday.
KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 17): Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) imposed a RM15 million fine on the debt-ridden 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) at the “time that the central bank was allowed to do so”, said BNM Governor Datuk Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus.
However, she did not specify the period.
Nor Shamsiah was responding to a question on the amount of fine imposed thus far on 1MDB during a press conference today on Malaysia’s gross domestic growth for the second quarter of this year.
Google is reportedly nearing an agreement on a lease for its first flagship retail store. The store will be located in Chicago, and will presumably be where the company shows off Google Pixel phones and other hardware.
