KUALA LUMPUR (May 25)(Thomson Reuters Foundation): Forests in parts of Southeast Asia face greater threats than previously thought because researchers often rely on data that ignores new roads, which are precursors to deforestation and development, a study shows.
The paper, published this month by the journal Biological Conservation, showed that an average of 75% of roads in five countries were missing from OpenStreetMap (OSM), a mapping platform widely used by researchers and academics.

In his latest Facebook post tonight, Najib said it is wrong of the Minister of Finance to only highlight the debts of 1MDB. By right, the Minister of Finance must also inform the public about the assets of 1MDB that have been taken over.
"The Minister of Finance must ‘walk the talk’ on CAT. He has to be transparent to tell the full story and not just half a story in order to deceive," he wrote.
